TIA SEEKING EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
ENTERPRISE BASED PRODUCTIVITY PLACES PROGRAM (EBPPP)

When registering your expression of interest, please indicate which course(s) your organisation would be considering and an indication of the the number of employees seeking to participate in the training.
Government partners with industry to provide additional training places
The Rudd Government has made available an additional $25 million dollars through the Enterprise Based Productivity Places Program (EBPPP) which will provide up to 90 per cent of the cost of training from Certificate III to Advanced Diploma level. It is designed to increase the skills of existing workers especially in occupations on the occupations list. The Electronics and ICT Industry is on the list.
In this latest release the Government has now included Professional Associations and Industry Bodies to participate in the program in order to provide industry support and endorsement in the role of workforce development.
The basis of the program is as follows;
- The Government’s contribution will depend on the size of the business organisation with:
- less than 100 employees receive 90% of their training costs
- between 100 and 199 employees receive 75% of their training costs
- with 200 or more employees receive 50% of their training costs
The employer must commit to undertake to meet the percentage of unfunded cost
- Eligibility basis:
- Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian refugee
- Must be a South Australian resident
- Aged 17 or over
- Currently employed
- Training Courses - There is a wide range of certificate and diploma courses available that include areas such as: (must relate specifically to the industry workplace)
- Electronic Engineering Associate
- Electronic Engineering Technician
- Electronic Equipment Tradesperson
- Telecommunications
- Computing
- Information Technology
- Project Management
- Frontline Management / Leadership
Please click here to view the priority list of courses issued by the EBPPP. Courses not listed will still be considered on a case by case basis.
The funding levels are a maximum of $5,000 for a Certificate III & IV and $10,000 for a Diploma & Advanced Diploma. Duration for completion of a course is 3 years for a Diploma / Adv. Diploma and 2 years for a Cert. III / Cert. IV
- Time Frame:
- The funding for the EBPPP is planned for two stages (February and May 2010), however allocation will be provided on a first come priority basis. Therefore, to maximise the opportunity to take advantage of this program, the TIA is seeking ‘Expressions of Interest’ from its members by close of business on Friday, January 22, 2010 in order to participate in the 1st round. The earlier the response the greater the chance of successfully receiving funding.
- Registered Training Organisations:
- The TIA will endeavour to identify appropriate and suitable professional training providers to deliver the selected Certificate and Diploma courses.
- Where possible TIA member companies operating as RTO’s will be selected.
Please note: There is no guarantee that applications will be successful to receive the government funding.

- A full needs analysis will be required per application complete with an Organisational Risk Assessment, Employer letter of verification and an Industry Endorsement from the TIA.
- Once the Expressions of Interest have been collected and assessed including the establishment of an appropriate RTO, the TIA will contact you to advise the outcome and commence the application process.
