Maptek Site Tour 

Maptek is celebrating 30 years of innovation and success. From early computerised modelling in the 1980s to the creation of a 3D mine model for the 2010 San José mine rescue; Maptek has been instrumental in pioneering software for industry.

On Wednesday the 30th of November 2011, the Technology Industry Association is offering an exclusive site tour, presentation and networking at Maptek's Glenside headquarters. Due to touring space, bookings will be limited. Register to attend by clicking here.

At the world-class Glenside manufacturing site, Maptek manufacture I-Site integrated laser survey and digital imaging systems for global distribution to customers in mining and forensic markets. Maptek I-Site combines highly accurate 3D laser scanning hardware with advanced point cloud processing software.

2010 San José mine rescue

Maptek played a critical role in the rescue operation at the 2010 San José copper-gold mine in Chile. Maptek was called in to help create a 3D model of the mine.

The scanned surface information, along with the 3D underground data provided the rescuers with the confidence to plan and control the correct design of drillholes, and better understand the location of the 33 miners. The rescue at the San José mine has become a worldwide phenomenon with the survival of all 33 miners who were trapped underground for 69 days.

Site Tour Details

Time: 9.00am for a 9.15am start 

Maptek: 63 Conyngham St, Glenside. All visitors are required to enter the facility via the building off Conyngham Street.

There is ample parking in the street or in the area behind the dog park.
