Following our successful smart grid forum, which provided a good overview of the subject, we now start the process of drilling down into the key issues that will help companies to go after the business opportunities.

This is a workshop designed for companies with products and services that are relevant to the smart grid and who want to gain a deeper understanding of the market and the potential customers.

Our workshop leader is Mike Davidson of Wessex Consult, who has been commissioned by DTED to prepare a set of briefing papers on the smart grid and its opportunities.  Mike consults with many of Australia’s electricity supply companies, as well as the federal government.  This workshop will cover the following topics:

• Overview of the Australian electricity markets – who’s who and what they do.
• Where smart grid fits in – why and what for.
• Australian Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs).
• Working with DNSPs.
• Current opportunities developing in the energy market.
